Day 216 – August 4, 2018
Blue – LAPC / Serenely – WODC / Pace – FOWC / Borborygmus – RDP / Splash – citysonnetDWP / Weekend in Black & White / #SixWordSaturday
I woke up this morning in an pretty rude fashion. Anastasia, my husky, had some serious issue with borborygmus which caused the bed to literally shake me away. If that wasn’t enough, the accompanying smell, had the same effect as smelling salts. It was not a pleasant awakening, but that is where the worst part of the day ends. Because when I got up, light filled the room that was not artificially made. It was the first morning I woke up to sunny skies in well over a week. Looking out the window, I was treated to brilliant blue skies, and it was good. Eager to get started on some way overdue outdoor work, I was quickly reminded how fast humidity can overtake you. As long as I remembered to pace myself, the humidity wouldn’t be an issue. This evening, on my way home I came up to the McLoughlin Memorial Covered Bridge, circa 1810, which is not far at all from the house. As I waited for the light to change, I decided to take the opportunity to snap a couple of shots. One cloud serenely danced across that brilliant blue skies. And if that wasn’t enough, with two hours left in the day, it appears that this will be a complete rain free day. One forbidding thought just popped into my head. I really hope, in a week or so, that I am not writing about how much we need rain. For now, I will take what I can get. Stay safe and have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

That’s very kind! I was afraid by the black and white you would miss out the actual aging of the bridge. But I think it really helped it. Thank you so much! 😁

Er… sorry… posted before editing. Meant to type awakening, and also to sympathise – I had an elderly border collie with dreadful flatulence.

Love that bridge, especially the black and white. For some reason, it feels like a scene out of a 1950s film noir type movie

Thank you. I really liked the black and white as well. I think the aged wood really enhances the black and white. Gives it a natural grain. I am fortunate to live close to 6 covered bridges. They are all so unique in their own way! I really appreciate you taking time to stop and comment!

I agree that black and white brings out textures. It’s one of the things I love about b&w

I can’t agree with you more. I just wish I had access to develop them myself. I really loved doing that! (Just with Black and White!)

We’ve been deluged of late as well. After an hour of rain this morning we finally got sunshine. By noon we were complaining about the heat LOL. Poor Mother Nature can’t make us happy no matter what 😊

If she just wasn’t so bi-polar! You must be on the east coast as well! It did heat up quick today. I think my a/c struggled because it was in shock. Thanks for the fun challenge this week!
