Day 215 – August 3, 2018

Illusion – WPCDebilitate – WODCCommotion – FOWC / Novel – RDP / Starts with an A – csDWP

This photo was shot for the photo challenge hosted by Jenn over at Traveling at Wits End. If you are a photographer and you haven’t visited it, you should check it out.  The prompt was illusion, and every time I would come up to this new development, these sets of town homes would play tricks on me.  It isn’t a coincidence either that there is a Buffalo Wild Wings and a Bennigans (bar restaurants) across the street. Of course looking at it straight on places everything back in perspective.  But from this angle (and others near) you have to wonder which complex is in front of the other, if they are at all.  I also kept the vehicles in it, because they create a second illusion.  The funny thing was, is that while I was shooting the photos, I had to stand in the middle of a parking lot.  The natural thing for people to do is to look for what was so interesting that I was taking pictures.  It caused quite the commotion, especially when the cable truck (it is the white hood appearing in the bottom right) took time to stop and rubberneck, for a couple of minutes, keeping a line of cars from exiting.  Quite the sight.  But not everything was fun and games today.  The blue sky you see, in typical fashion, showed itself for only a brief time and was replaced by gray rain filled clouds not less than 5 minutes after I finished.  By the time I got home, more debilitating rain fell, ending what little fun I could enjoy out in the sun  (I have included a video for those who would like to see rain 😳)  Not sure who we could call, but I think it would be a great gesture if this monsoon pump could be diverted to those who really could use it on the west coast.  That would be my aspiration.  What a novel idea.

    1. Thank you so much Jenn! I am beyond thrilled to be featured by you! That is awfully kind. I really hoped it would be something different but still interesting. Thank you for hosting the challenge and even more for the compliment. Coming from you, I am just at a loss of words. I really admire your work. (This weeks challenge photos, moving water, are simply spectacular)
