Day 89 – March 30, 2019

Hello April – Lens-Artists / Six Word Saturday / Remnants – Weekly Prompts Photo / Scorn – FOWC / Kite – RDP / Instant – WODC / Day 30 – Spiky Month of Squares

I use to think it was pretty darn risky for the cherries to blossom this early, but I guess when it’s time, it’s time.  Even if we are suppose to have a little cold snap the next two days, the cherries blossomed thanks to some warm days culminating in todays close to 80 degree day in the city and will begin to leave its remnants just as fast as it blossomed.  I love this canopy.  Even if it is ruined by being in the front of a school, and not in my yard, it is still stunning every year that it comes around. It is sad that in a weeks time, the white petals will be gone, but if you only get one chance to pop that cherry (blossom) a year, you might as well do it with a bang.  And it succeeds, big time.  Especially when there is more than one to share.  It is a much bigger deal, about an hour south, where Washington DC hosts a cherry blossom festival.  Everywhere you walk, bundles of the white petals seem to emerge in an instant.  It really is pretty magical. But talk about being at the whim of Mother Nature.  She really displays her power in controlling when the cherries are ready to pop dictating when the festival may be held.  The date is typically the last weekend in March, but when she is in a good mood it may be earlier, but scorn her and it will run later, ruining the festivals timing. Needless to say, the incredible temps and the shade of the blossoms combined to make a beautiful day. I also wore shorts all day, washed my car, and refilled all bird feeders, so there’s that.

    1. No you aren’t. While I really try to have the entire title represent the post, this one’s meaning is rather obscure. However, just fyi, my post titles are derived from titles of songs I have enjoyed at some point. In addition, on Saturday there is a 6 Word challenge where your post needs to have a 6 word title. So I had a pretty difficult time remembering a song that includes buds, blooms, cherry, blossoms , etc. So I was pretty excited when I remembered this one, especially since it has lyrics that talk about finding this place in the middle of nowhere, and staying there and not going back, because it’s so nice there. I am sure that is more than you wanted to know, but thank you for asking!
