DAY 224 – August 12, 2018

Lazy Days – Sunday Stills / Blossom – WODC / Treat – FOWCFungible – RDP / Starts with an L – citysonnet / Sale – One Word Photo Challenge / #MySundayPhoto / Selfie – #onewordsunday / #463 – Weekend Reflections / Weekend Black & White (below)

It took a little bit of time, but after I found the definition to fungible my idea for todays composition brought everything together. It was a busy start today, but as always I had breakfast at a favorite diner.  When my day starts with banana bread French toast, it is going to be a good day.  Even a black and white photo (below) looks delicious.  It has been a typical Sunday, when I wasn’t busy, I was pretty lazy.  A couple of weeks ago a lightning bolt struck right outside the house.  As a result, a power surge was sent through the electrical wiring, which was protected by surge protectors.  However, I did not account for a surge going through the satellite system and the DSL lines.  As a result, any and all electronics connected to either line, pretty much everything, was fried.  Luckily everything was covered by warranty or insurance (still having issues with the HVAC unit but it works for now.) It was still an ordeal to go through and attempt to replace everything.  Especially my router, which also served as the backup to my laptop. Nothing was spared. All of the HDMI and DSL cables were fried.  It really is fascinating when you consider how many items are connected either directly or as part of a chain.  Both of my televisions suffered and were inoperable, which leads to todays response.  The replacement LED TV  I got on sale 2 weeks ago became defective when a single pixel burn blossomed onto the screen.  Meaning there is this little white dot that stays on at all times, no matter what is on the screen.  This is a defect and considering the TV is only 2 weeks old, I boxed it up and returned it to the store as the item was fungible as a result of the stores return policy. Luckily, the same item was in stock and the exchange went very smooth. Once home, I reinstalled the cables and cords and when all was done, I flipped the power on, set-up and tested the new telly, and as a treat, I kicked back and enjoyed the rest as a lazy day watching the game (see the selfie in the screen 😬?  Hope all of you have a great start to your week!

  1. Mmm French toast! I had that for breakfast this morning as well but no banana bread. Actually I haven’t had any banana bread in a loooong time!
And fungible… never heard of that word until now. ☺️

    1. It’s the most amazing banana bread. I don’t even know how they do it. Typically the banana bread I eat is somewhat dense and heavy, but this is the lightest, packed with flavor, B.B. I’ve had which I guess it needs to be if you have to dunk it into an eggwash.
