Footprints In The Snow

Day 316 – November 12, 2019

I was pretty disappointed this morning. I was expecting to see some snow falling on my way to work, but nope.  So as the end of the school day came and there was no hint of the white stuff, I was utterly disappointed.  However, once I got on to the highway and got my first peek at the mountains I perked up a bit as that all to familiar white haze of falling snow came in to view.  As I made my climb to higher grounds, it wasn’t long until I saw the flakes begin to fall.  I was taken with a vastly different mood which appeared in the form of a smile.  It wasn’t much and it was over before I knew it, but I saw it.  When I got home the sun was out and I thought the weather system had passed.  I was wrong.  About an hour after I got home the winds picked up, the clouds darkened and the snow flew.  I wasn’t the only one with a smile.  Anastasia’s face says it all in that top photo.  This is her weather.  Her spirit and energy increases tremendously. The Husky in her comes out full tilt and boy does she love to run in this.  The first snow has always been an adventure with her.  It is like she knows that she totally belongs in the snow.  Between this and the very first measurable snow fall have to be some of the best moments with her.  It has stopped now.  And the deep freeze has made itself known.  And that is ok.  A snowfall makes the cold temps tolerable.
