It’s obvious that I haven’t been in to town much recently. Probably because I have been living the Troglodyte life and retreat to my house in the hills, only to leave for work. There is always something new opening up, something I have featured a couple of times in the past two years. I love the little hidden coffee shops, especially when they are the underdog with Starbucks right around the corner. Not to be brash, but I am not a huge Bucks fan, especially if I have a choice. Give me fresh ground/fresh brewed, local flavors any day. I just need to emerge from my cave and get out a little more often.

We drink hot, strong filter coffee in the morning 😊 it is a good start to the day.

Once we like the taste of filter coffee it is difficult to like instant coffee.

I prefer the smaller independent cafes. I tried Starbucks coffee once and don’t know why they rave about it, never again

I really don’t get it either. I mean when it first opened near me, after only having in in NYC it was a big deal. I don’t think it was necessarily the coffee as much as it was the name. But now they have run so many great places out that its almost the only thing you can find. I actually prefer Dunkin Donut Coffee over theirs.

I love independents too. When we lived in the city, we a terrific one right around the corner. I’m not a Starbucks fan either. 😃

I noticed there was no Starbucks in Australia. Well, someone told me it has arrived in Melbourne, but definitely not in Adelaide.
