Day 219 – August 7, 2019
Travel – Weekly Quotation Inspired / Confidant – Weekly Prompts Word / Surreal – FOWC / Fear – RDP / Sanctify – WODC
I am guessing that these aren’t in every airport as I didn’t see any in the airports I flew to and from last week. As I came up the escalator I saw the bottom photo and thought, ok this is an ad for some new Ikea thing or something. But as I made my way around the corner it became clear what it was. A narrow hallway tucked in a terminal gave way to what is a surreal hotel. For some, I am sure these would be a worthy space to sanctify and reenergize oneself during long stints of travel, or being stuck in the airport thanks to delays and or cancellations. To others a pure source of fear as the rooms are no bigger than a single bed and just enough height to sit up on the bed. As I walked past, the attendant must have read my mind for she nodded in a confidant way, asking if I would like to see the inside. Of course I was more than happy to accept the invite. It was cute and cozy, and pretty darn comfortable. The inside even had a porthole type window, although opening it up only provided a view of the 20 foot drop to the first level. A completely different thrill seeking adventure. Wonder if it’s an add-on cost.
Never heard of these. Where was this one?

I saw one of these in the Munich airport as I rushed through a change of flights. I’ve never managed to use one of the capsule hotels of Tokyo, and I wondered if I;ll get to use this.
