When You Believe

Day 197 – July 16, 2019

Close Up of Flowers – Cee’s Fun Foto / Escape – FOWC / Lofty – RDP / Quiet – WODC / Day 16 – July’s Blue Squares

Let me quiet any rumors right off the bat.  I sure as heck wouldn’t want to set any lofty expectations. And by posting it, I am fully aware that there is no escape from the judgments passed on to me.  It’s my fault, most of my blog family are passionate gardeners with a wealth of knowledge. While I set these out proudly, displayed for all to see I, in no way, grew or maintained these myself.  They are, in fact, not even real.  My track record, heck the whole families track record, isn’t all that good when it comes to caring and maintaining plants. It is a family of blackthumbs. As far as gardening goes, I can grow a mean artificial flower, that’s about it. I don’t think I could even tell you what kinds they are. Actually, if I ran out and looked at the sticker on them, I believe it has their names. No, in fact, take a look here…

That is more what I have come to expect. Not at all Garden of the Month club worthy, but one can hope. Truth be told, it actually exceeded expectations.  If you recall, I took a photo of my wishful thinking butterfly/hummingbird garden.  Click here to refresh your memory.  This is what I ended up with.  I think I was more lucky growing the 3% weed seed.  But, I have to say, if the flowers were bigger, maybe I would have butterflies instead of pissed off bees trying to collect pollen from the fake flowers.

No fpj photo prompt today? Hope all is well, just really threw me off (same with Jenn’s Friday Weekly Photo Challenge)

  1. Lots of people take artificial flowers to cemeteries during the summer. My young grandsons once had a great time running from grave to grave trying to spot the artificial ones, fortunately there was no one else around! The rabbits eat the real flowers at our village cemetery and all that’s left are vases of stalks!
