Twist And Shout

Day 150 – May 30, 2019

Nostalgia – Photo a Week / Which Way Photo / Kammie’s Oddball / Humdrum – FOWC / Drift – RDP / Wager – WODC

This is the 4th day in a row that we have been under a Tornado watch and the third day in a row where a tornado touched down within a 50 mile radius of home.  Today, I left school during a Tornado Warning, meaning there was a tornado that was seen and verified.  It was definitely not going to be a humdrum drive. According to the radar, it was about 10 miles away, drifting east.  I was headed North to home, so I figured I was good.  The first two shots were where I normally catch the highway.  Look at the trees in the v\background, and then I am not sure if you can see, but the hail that was bouncing around.  Needless to say, based on the visuals I probably should have waited just a little bit longer.  But the crazy thing is, as soon as I got on the highway the clouds literally split. The 3rd photo is a shot of the sky, looking backwards.  Those are the clouds that produced a twister. The first on the bottom is another looking south, further up.  The clouds began too lighten a bit.  The next two are shots to the east . I actually really like the 3rd on the bottom with the mountain in the far background, highlighted but the sun. Which didn’t last long.  And then the last one is looking due North as I got closer to home.  It felt like they were literally building right in front of me, like a dare.  But they were a lot further away from home then originally appeared.  But still the sky was absolutely nuts this afternoon, and I would wager that there was more than one that touched down today.
