Day 116 – April 26, 2019

Another Friday night, and for the second week in a row, another tornado watch while at trivia night. I think this is my 5th week at trivia, playing on a team that finds itself in first place, and the competitor in me has now come out to play. This is not necessarily a good thing. While chemo has really killed my taste for alcohol, trivia has started to reawaken that taste. The good thing is that it’s only on trivia night. The rest of the week, no such taste. They hold this trivia at one of the wineries that sits open a mountainside with an amazing view. The one overlooking the countryside is from the side of the building. The clouds most definitely looked like we should be under a tornado watch, which I was more than happy to do.
That is one dramatic sky! Looks ominously perfect for black and white.

It was just as ominous in color! 😳. Thank you so much for the feature! I don’t know why I can’t like/leave comments directly on your post. Frustrating.

Ditto on all the comments above. You are mystery, my friend. In fact, I’m going to use this post for my next challenge if that’s okay. Can’t reveal too much, as you are part of that group, but suffice to say it is nothing negative.

I did not know you have gone through chemo. I hope you’re okay now.

Yes. I have been clear 9 years last month. 1 more year of scans and blood drawn and then I am done with that as well!

That’s good to hear! They say if you have many years of being clear then you’re okay. I have a friend who has been cleared too.

Typically after 5 years you are no longer in remission.

I read your other blog, about cancer, back when I first found you, over a year ago now?
So anyway, this is the first reference to chemo I think I’ve noticed in this blog.
Don’t know if that means the fight is back on, and you don’t even have to tell me.
Just wanted you to know I’m here.

Oh no, I’m 9 years in the clear last month. I’m looking forward to my 10th and I get to stop scans and blood drawn rechecks, which is exciting. I tend to leave it out. I have mentioned it every now and then but usually in a joking manner, because cancer sucks so it’s easy to laugh at😛 I do still deal with every day side effects that won’t ever go away, but considering the alternative…
I lost my taste for a few things because of chemo. Alcohol was one. It’s kinda crazy. Especially since I teach.. 😂

Whew, so glad to hear that!
Can’t wait to hear more about the trivia. When Trivial Pursuit happened, let’s just say I was on cloud 9 about that for years.
I’m still a threat to buy an old Trivial Pursuit game for a buck every time I see one in a thrift store.
