(Just a Singer… 😛)
You have a freshly minted 21 year old at home on break, you are bound to head to a local bar so he can order his own drink, legally. It doesn’t hurt that we live right near a college town where the bar scene includes some live music on weekends. I will admit it has been quite some time since I have headed to a bar so I hope I wasn’t showing my age as the most common words out of my mouth were “too loud”. For the size of the place, they packed a pretty heavy duty sound system into the space. Not only that, but the light show, with its iridescent LED stage lights, was very impressive. I guarantee that the bar wasn’t the only place you could hear (or see) them. Not saying they were bad, that’s not the case at all, perhaps just “too loud”. Not sure how long it will take for me to learn how to hear again. I must have been looking like I was in pain because it wasn’t long before my son offered an escape when he said “hey let’s go. It’s too loud.”
The photo above right was taken this morning. 4 hours later it was gone. Crazy. But I wanted to include it for a couple of reasons. 1. It is looking at the bar we were at and includes some interesting architecture of the town. Especially the turret across the street. I also just really liked the colors of the sepia tone. It’s not a great photo at all but I like looking at it and thinking Norman Rockwell scene. The one next to it is the exterior of the bar. I really just like the reflection in the window. No other real reason. The one flying solo is a square version of the featured photo.
Look What I Found
Loved it! Though I agree with you about the decibels! 😉 😛

Love the photos. I once attended an AC/DC concert. The place rocked. The speakers hug to humungous. Happily I brought my ear plugs and enjoyed the concert knowing an hoping my sense of hearing had been spared. Also brought the plugs to smaller bars where the music was just as loud and the space smaller. Cheers. 🙂

I actually have them but didn’t even think about using them. I was just relieved I didn’t have the hearing aids in!

I’m with you Jason, there’s something about the ‘Old Town’ photo that is captivating.
There was a time when if I looked at a photo I would know immediately if it was taken in North America. This one though could be anywhere in the world! 🙂

hee hee, never good for the ears when the music spikes in volume!

I dint even consider that. I was going with the typography on the bands name as my spiky points! 😁 I thought about writing about someone spiking my drink but figured I could save that for later. 😛

Glad you enjoyed it. My tinnitus is fired up! Did you send me an email for your box? If not, it’s ok, I just didn’t want to miss it if you did.
