Day 58 – February 27, 2019

Assuming – Weekly Word Prompt / Mantled in Mist – Quotation Inspired / Puddle – FOWC / Language – RDP / Wondering – WODC

I was assuming that you all wanted to see more of the gliders I talked about yesterday, so I stopped by the airfield on my way home wondering if they would be out today.  They were. I first figured it out when I caught a glimpse of a shimmer of light in the sky and saw that there was a glider, in tow, behind a puddle jumper, right in front of me.  You can see them in the photo below. And if you look a bit closer you will see another one up in the right corner.  I didn’t even realize it was there until I looked over today’s shots.  The field was a little busy today as there were a long row of carriers lined up next to the runway.  Some were readying for flight, while others were packing up.  And then there were the ones still hovering above.  It is really fascinating watching the activity here on a busy day.  The pilots of both vessels speak their own language, flashing signals to indicate certain commands/directions.  It is actually very entertaining.  The weather must be ideal for these to fly because the smiles that were on the pilots faces both before and after their glide, left no doubt.
