Day 9 (374) January 9, 2019
On a Lake – Mid-Week Mono / Patience – Weekly Prompt Word / Ambition – FOWC / Appetite – WODC / Cloudy Skies – January Photo a Day / Ebullient – RDP
Admittedly, this is a huge stretch, even for my (lack of) standards. Maybe the skating rink is not “on a lake” but, its’s close enough, yes? Besides, I really like the shot in monochrome. The color versions are really nice too, but then that would really, really be a stretch. I have to say the father in the photo has great patience as he works with his daughters ambition to be a professional figure skater. No lie, I actually hear that conversation. There was a loud happy and ebullient victory yelp when she finally was able to get her skates under her and dad didn’t have to keep bending over. I caught the bottom photo after we had a very cold front come through and spread a snow shower around the area. It didn’t last though, but it primed us for a very likely snow event this weekend. I just really like that the sun was caught as it’s apex was just about to sink below the mountain, producing the lens flare. Both photos have something in common. They have a very cold feeling associated with them. That or it nay just be the draft from the window I am sitting in front of.
Love the sun going down – back to the spaceship again with the lens flare! 🛸😀

I do love a good lens flare. I thought I saw something else in the sun… It’s almost like Kilroy is there!

Awesome shots. I think often that scattering of snow is more “graphic” than full coverage.
