Day 355 – December 21, 2018

Holiday Traditions – Weekly Challenge / Intervene – FOWC / Solstice – RDP / Wrapping Paper – December Photo a Day / Day 21 – December Square

There are a number of traditions that most have during the holidays.  From baking cookies, to ugly sweaters, to caroling in the town square, there are a number that contribute to the seasons holidays.  In my new school, there is a tradition, that had not been shared with me, yet, where the classes create a “holiday light” sculpture in their classrooms in a friendly competition.  This is the entry for the auto body classes, set up in the garage.  I found it to be one of the most creative display as they managed to make a sailboat look like a Christmas tree.  All of the frame work were entirely from parts of the body of a car.  Pretty cool looking, even moreso in person. On another note, it has been a really crazy first day of winter.  When I went to bed last night, the temps were in the upper 30’s, when I woke this morning mid 50’s, when I left work mid 60’s.  It has been raining the past two days, and tonight, after a few more stops at car dealers, I watched as this ominous darkness overtook the sky as a winter cold front suddenly decided to intervene on an early spring warm front.  In a matter of an hour, the temps fell at least 15 degrees, and are continuing to drop as I type. It’s just part of the wonderful appeal of winter!  Time for the weekend! Look forward to some peace and joy.

  1. Seems to be raining both sides of the pond at the moment, fortunately here in the Algarve we just have lovely sunshine!
