Day 350 – December 16, 2018

Festive – Sunday Stills / White – One Word Sunday / Texture – Pic and a Word #166#MySundayPhoto / Cycle – FOWC / Persist – RDP / Wish – WODC / Cookies – December Photo A Day / Day 16 – December Squares

Back out to check on snow making progress.  Especially after so much rain today.  Happy to report that, with the persistent hum of the blowers, the slopes held up just fine. They even started including the back side slopes in the cycle, so the mountain is almost completely covered in white.  The skating pond however, surround by festive lights, uncovered some areas of concern. You can tell by the difference in textures, which are numerous in the shot.  I am glad I came back as I was really wishing the skating pond area, which had previously been unlit and unfrozen,  was as I now found it.   I feel like the time to open is getting closer, however there were a few days with temps in the 50’s, isn’t really conducive to snow making.  A cold front is on its way so prognosis is real good! It’s Monday, the start of a new week and a new chance.

  1. This is all new to me. No frozen ice to skate upon here, mainly thin ice!
I loved your picture and once again I looked for the unexpected, and I found it in the form of an alien in the light, to the forefront of the photo, and in the top right of the picture a staircase to heaven, or perhaps it led back to the little alien’s spaceship! 😀

    1. I worked at an indoor ice rink when I moved back here. I got to learn to drive the zamboni and ended up being the DJ while skating was open and then drove the Zanboni every 70 mins. It was such a fun job.
