Day 309 – November 5, 2018

Sacrifice – VJ’s Weekly Prompt / Reverence – Manic Monday 3 Way Prompt / Sepia – Photo For The Week (below) / Contemplation – Pic and a Word #160 / Over – FOWC / Chime – RDP / Flippant – WODC / Start With the Letter E – November Photo A Day

Fortunately, no one was hurt. Unfortunately, the car is totaled, the driver will be sore, the road on both sides closed down, until it was cleared, and the worst part is that this is not the first time something like this has happened at this intersection.  It is an all to frequent occurrence, especially on wet, rain or snowy days.  It is magnified when it is dark out and, unfortunately, that comes a lot earlier now with daylight savings time.  What is very revealing, when you come upon scenes like this, are the number of people that stop and are willing to do what is necessary in order to help whomever may need it.  The sacrifices people are willing to make in order to help another person in need is truly selfless.  As I drove by, I realized that the accident happened very recent, I didn’t take a single moment of contemplation. Though I saw others who were already on the scene, I jumped out of my truck and went over to the cars to make sure there was no serious injury, and to lend a hand should it have been necessary. I was prepared to act, should there have been other immediate dangers. Only when I got back into my truck, once emergency personnel arrived, whom I have immense reverence for, did I realize that there was no consideration to any other possible dangers.  It was pure adrenaline and I acted on impulse. Ironically, it wasn’t until I heard the continual chime of my seatbelt off indicator, that I realized actually had just happened.  Have a great Tuesday. If you are in a location that has elections, get out and vote! Otherwise, be safe!

  1. Oh my! This looks serious! 😦
I’m personally very sacred of driving! It’s been almost 10 years that I haven’t driven a car! After I was in a couple of bad accidents, I decided, may be it’s not meant for me.. Though it gets difficult commuting and you have to depend on others to take you places, but it (mentally) keeps me safe!

Good job on being proactive with the help!❤

  2. Have you noticed how the lights in front of the vehicle, to right of the photograph resemble an angry looking ghost? If this was Halloween you might say it was disappointed not to have collected another soul!

It was kind of you stop and assist and I’m glad the driver escaped relatively unharmed.

    1. Oh wow. I chose this one because of the lights. Mainly the halo effect around the street light. I thought the halo was an appropriate effect. But now that you mention it, I see it!! That is kind of creepy! A wonderful catch. Thank you. I honestly wasn’t in love with any of the ones I got, but I really just wanted to share the observation.

Thank you. I don’t always stop. I did a lot more when I was trained as a first responder and even after my cert expired. But there have been times recently when I ran into trouble and even when I appeared to run into trouble when people stopped to check in. It’s like someone knows that I need a reminder.

      1. I look for faces everywhere!
I have an idea for you. Look at our word prompt tomorrow and thinking about what we both said about your photo, use it again. You will understand when you see the word!

    1. I wasn’t sure if it would play with the headlights that flood portions of the photo. But I think the sepia muted them and I think I actually liked how it came out more than the color one! Thanks for the compliment!

    1. Kinda crazy. Especially one who is known to be accident prone. It’s just not a thought that goes through my mind. I’d like to think I’d be one of the good results on the show What would you do! 😉💕

  3. Oh well done with all those prompts. My daughter was in an accident this week – multiple cars. She’s fine, thank goodness, and also thanks to all who stopped by – sacrificing their busy days. Hope you are having a good week.
