Day 307 – November 3, 2018

Blending In or Standing Out – Lens-Artists / Jack Frost – Weekly Prompts Photo Challenge / Snooze – FOWC / Bask – RDP / Bonfire – WODC / Starts With the Letter L – November Photo A Day / #SixWordSaturday

Sometimes something beautiful can emerge from something so simple.  In this neck of the woods, there are a number of “simple” homes.  A-frames, log cabins, ranchers, are just a few of the simply beautiful types of homes.  Of course, when you have a background and landscape like this, I would imagine the need to spruce the exterior of the home is not a priority.  The amazing thing with homes like this is that depending on the season, it will be blending in or standing out.  As I mentioned in yesterdays post, the weather took a turn.  In a matter of minutes the temperature went from 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 45.  When the sun sets tonight it will fall to near freezing, an invite for Jack Frost (not pictured😛), and homes like this, and others up here, will, after having collect a number of branches and twigs that fell last night, pile them up and bask in the warmth of a good sized bonfire.  While mine won’t reach that size, the fire pit next to the house is primed and ready to go, and with the extra hour of snooze time tonight, the fire won’t be the only source of warmth! 🍷🥃😉

    1. Have a question for you. You have been an amazing help, so… As I have gone through my first two weeks of follies, I have noticed that there are a number of other blogs that use that phrase. So I’ve been thinking of a name change. So a) do you agree with a change b) do you think it’s too late c) how would you suggest I go about it.?? I have been playing with names and have a couple of ideas like The Weekly Bungle, Unfortunate Friday’s, Weekly Bloopers/Blooper Reel, Friday Flubs or Friday Fails. My favorite Idea was “You Had One Job” but I cant figure a way to make it work. I also thought I could change the start day which would give some other options but I just don’t know, and I don’t know if it’s even worth it/necessary. Thoughts? Also, do you think the format is ok? Is there anything that I should change to make it flow/look/work better? You are the best!

      1. I didn’t realise there were others using the same title. How about Follies on Friday? Or Chuckle Challenge, change the format slightly to include a wider audience, funny sign, funny photo or even a funny joke. Something like that. Any kind of change would work after all you did state you were still in the pilot stage. Thank you for the kind words, they’re appreciated, 🙂

        1. Maybe that’s why I kind of liked Weekly Bungle (which is a play on the word Bugle, often used as a newspaper name, not that you didn’t know that 😬) I like the idea of opening it up to a wider audience and having it sound like a collection instead of a challenge. I just had a new thought based on your description.. Friday Funnies (a play on the Sunday comics, funny pages, of a newspaper). Ill have to do a search to see if there are any like that.
