Out On A Limb

Day 265 – September 22, 2018

#SixWordSaturday / Path – Lens-Artists Challenge #12 / The Other Half – Photo Challenge / Day 22 – September Squares / Carnival – WODC / Number – FOWC / Posh – RDP / Broken – citysonnet DWP / Trees – Cee’s Black and White Challenge / Weekend in Black & White (Black and White Photo Response Below)

The sight of fallen trees is not uncommon where I live, which is anything but posh. Considering the enormous number of them filling in empty lots, sides of the mountains and in landscaping, it’s only a matter of time before one falls in a place that makes it very inconvenient to our community. They have been responsible for falling in the middle of the road, where you pretty much have to go a pretty long way to get onto the other half of the street.  They have knocked out electricity and cable a little too often. And, unfortunately, I have seen 4 instances where they connected with a roof of a house.  This one above is precariously perched over this residence’s driveway. The top part is supported by, not much, of a limb.  But the thing pretty much keeping it where it is, is the power line that looks like a vine Tarzan would swing on.  I am hoping the home owner doesn’t lift a pinky to move the line out of the way and waits for the borough to send one of the maintenance workers to take care of it.  The real nice thing is that they do respond to these issues pretty darn fast, so the inconvenience won’t ruin the rest of the day! Hope you are having a great weekend!  Stay safe.

This beautiful A-Frame stands right next to the house above.  Remembering that I have yet to do the Black and White challenges, I wanted to try it on one of the many “tree houses” (it’s what I call them) in the area.  I had a little trouble with the contrast but I still feel good about it.  This house is spectacular, especially when it’s lit up for the holidays and a large pine fills one of the front window panes.
