Shedding Some Skin

Day 241 – August 29, 2018

Wrecked – Weekly Photo 24 / Parsimonious – WODC / Due – FOWC / Oeuvre – Ragtag DP

So about 6 months ago, Lil Red decided that the shed, which I had built by hand 13 years ago, was due for a make-over.  Knowing that the shed had more like a worn-out exterior with a wrecked ship looking interior, it was built solid and with some strong bones and had never leaked, I thought it would just be a coat of paint, new trim and some organizing things on the inside. As the days rolled by, I watched the simple shed make-over, turned out to be more of a “Fixer Upper” type of things.  The biggest difference being the pretty hefty budget that the people bring to the table does not compare to the much more parsimonious amount we were looking at.  As the months rolled on, work on the shed became more active.  Windows, found in second hand stores, or on the side of roads, filled spaces I had framed out originally for possible future renovations. A door appeared on the side and two arched windows brought in more light.  And as spring turned to summer, new doors were installed, and a fresh coat of paint signaled the end.  I must say Lil Red and Dad got it done with very little help on my part. I was/am impressed.  And with the sun falling and light filling spaces in between leaves, this oeuvre photo replaces the bland canvas the project started off as, which you can see in this post.

    1. Between you and I and anyone who reads this, I knew if it didn’t fall in the first 3 months I stood a chance and if it the roof didn’t leak after the first 3 storms, the shed might actually stand for a year! 😁
