Day 219 – August 7, 2018
Row – TPC / Loath – WODC / Setting – FOWC / Play – RDP / Tranquil – citysonnetDWP
This photo was actually meant to capture the ominous storm clouds coming in, but who wants to see all that, again. You can catch a peak of it in the right corner, if you really want to. I am coming in right under the wire tonight, so I wanted to post a photo that, like yesterday, captures the prompts all within the frame. So, I set out today focusing on the Tuesday Photo Challenge prompt “Row”. As I chased the storm, I drove over the active railroad tracks that serpentine their way through the town and surrounding area. Railroad tracks have always been fascinating. As I mentioned back in April, I love riding the train. Especially on those not too far, not to short trips. Riding the train to Philly or NYC is the ideal method to travel. But as a kid, I remember having a house right near them. And while it was fun to play near the tracks waiting for the train to come through, counting the cars and waiting for the caboose. It’s a fond memory. I don’t think my parents would say the same thing. In fact, I think they actually loathed them. There were a number of times when their tranquil setting out on the porch at sunset was rudely interrupted by that loud familiar sound of the RR crossing bell and the rumble of metal on metal. I didn’t mind it at all. I believe my dad, however, was relieved he wasn’t assigned there very long at all.

I love that railroad track pic. It’s like the feeling you get when you’re ready to go traveling again.

No, no I wouldn’t enjoy cats traveling at all either. I will bring my dog whenever I could, but she likes the car, new places.
