Day 218 – August 6, 2018
Conversation – VJ’s Weekly Challenge #10 / Forlorn – Manic Mondays 3 Way Prompt / Resplendent – WODC / Swollen – FOWC / Spiral – RDP / Vivid, Colorful – city sonnetDWP /
This has to be the most “complete” photo I have used to cover all topics. By that I mean, I am confidant that all the prompts are represented by the picture alone, and I don’t have to write anything to include the individual prompts. That doesn’t mean I am not going to write anything at all, you don’t get off that easy, I just don’t need to. I do regret not having my main camera with me, but the opportunity presented itself and I had no time. As mom and daughter walked past, drawing attention with their respondent wardrobe, I overheard a little of the conversation they were having. The flood gates of memories, including conversations like theirs, between my daughter (at that age) and I, opened up and gushed out. I was knocked ambivalent by the emotional landslide. Especially when those memories, combined with the inevitable image of my girl leaving home, began to spin out of control, almost. Much like the colorful pseudo spiral pattern on the tie-dyed shirt, the repressed images and feelings flew out from the subconscious to that moment, catching me off-guard. After my brief “moment”, I preserved the image of the two that left my heart swollen and forlorn. Have a great week everyone!

Thank you this makes me feel good! Yes I have. In fact it was your comment yesterday that made me think of that song!

I love Stevie’s voice from back then. That whole album was great. Wish they would put it on ITunes, but I guess that will never happen now.

That’s when the old record shops come in handy! $5 for albums like that!

Do you still have a turntable?

Yep! There is absolutely no better sounding system to play music. You can’t replicate that. There is a definite sound quality.

There is this song I absolutely adore and when it starts it has that slightly scratchy/needle sound and it takes me right back!

The sound you can get out of some good speakers is incredibly nostalgic.

What a beautiful sentiment. Thank you for sharing your memories through photos! Always makes me smile. This one got me choked up. No matter where my children are, I miss them.

That means so much! Thank you for that incredibly sweet compliment. I am really happy that it was able to evoke emotion! And I think I am just really trying to prepare for what will be happening within the next month. 😕

Your daughter is leaving for college?

No she is taking a year to move out west and test those waters. But she will still be quite the distance away which will make it more difficult to come back home to visit. It’s tough.

My son lives in Baltimore and I live in Texas. He hasn’t lived in Texas since 2011 when he went into the Marines. I still miss him every day….

I could tell from that post how much! That is absolutely crazy because I live less than an hour from Baltimore my sister lives in Texas and my oldest son is in Albuquerque. Talk about small world 😮

These are precious moments, passing too swiftly. Conversations with little people are the best. Thanks for sharing.

Don’t I know it! Way too fast. 😕Thank you for the prompt. I was out looking for a conversation. If not, I would have never had the opportunity.
