Day 211 – July 30, 2018

#9 Home – VJWCCandor – WODC / Comfortable – FOWCHorizon – cSDWP

It rained pretty much all day, today, again. We managed to see a little sun right at the end of the day, giving me at least time to get out, stretch my legs and find this, what would normally be a shallow creek, become a raging river.  I have a little secret to share.  I am going to tell you in all honesty and candor.  Looking back on the past weeks posts you will notice a significant number of posts dedicated to the non stop rain that engulfed the area, heck, pretty much the entire east coast.  And in many of the posts I complained, in one way or another, about the sheer amount that was/had fallen. Well the thing is, I didn’t really mind it all that much.  Sure there is no denying that days full of gray, with nothing but more gray on the horizon, is a downer.  But with the temps barely making it into the mid 70’s, and it being necessary to keep the a/c on to control the humidity, there was a nice chill in the house.  Knowing that you really can’t do anything about it takes the guilt out of being a slug the entire day.  Who doesn’t like getting comfortable by throwing on some sweats and grabbing a cup of coffee and enjoy guilt free living.  Now if that’s not “home”, I don’t know what is.

  1. Meanwhile in Austin, Texas, we had a 2 week heat wave of 100+ temps. It was HOT! But, I wouldn’t live anywhere else. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow. It’s going to only be 95, which at this time of year is downright chilly! Ha!! That’s my jab at our weather for today!

    1. I do realize how out of shape I am, and the “I am not as young as I use to be” phrase tends to be uttered more often after a day or two of sluggishness. But it’s a sacrifice I guess I have to make 😬
