A Dark Storm on the Horizon

Day 202 – July 21, 2018

Time to Relax – Lens Artists Photo Challenge / #6WSStriving – WODC / Compound – FOWC / Duck – RDP /

And just like that, the warm sunny days are but a thing of the past.  I wasn’t striving for beach weather when I got back, but it appears as though the coast did not want me to leave. It followed me home, not by sun and warmth but by an intensifying coastal storm.  Compounding the storm, another storm system from the west, is providing more energy as the two become one, pretty much right over me. The rain has been non stop, torrential at times. The wind gusting near tropical force at times. For a few seconds, as I took this photo, I honestly felt like a duck in the road, especially when a motorist behind me stopped, as if to let the ducks cross. In that short amount of time I was soaked, head to toe, right through my clothes.  Shorts and tanks have given way to sweat pants and shirts.  I’m not miserable though, the one advantage of a day like this is I really can’t do anything outdoor related. So, grabbing a hot cup of coffee, perhaps a book, and a blanket, I will take the time to relax from my relaxing, albeit very short, getaway.
