Don’t Look Down

Day 199 – July 18, 2018

Glimmer – 24WPC / Enticing – WODC / Ambiguous – FOWC / Extempore – RDP / Week 2 (Suspended) – CFFC

I just happened to drive by this challenge course while out today, and made the extempore decision to stop.  The course was very enticing and I battled some serious protests with my common sense, even though I had already given one of these a go round a couple of years ago. But that was a few years ago, I was a bit more fit and much more prepared (as far as equipment, gloves, sunglasses, the GoPro.) I knew that if there was any glimmer of hope that I would be able to tackle the more difficult challenges, it would probably be a good idea to come back on a later date. But then I asked myself, does it really matter?  A rather ambiguous question that led me to a rather hasty answer. Yes, yes I did.  Abandoning all external signs of fear, I headed to the counter.  Upon arriving at the cashier, I was informed that usually walk-ups are no problem, however, today the course was rented out by some summer camp.  I walked out with a brave face, containing my disappointment, holding a 50% off admission for the next time.  Something tells me that it might have been a sign.  Regardless, I knew I wasn’t voluntarily walking away, but that I was ready to face whatever trepidation I had, and take on the course. So I felt proud of myself.  The fact that I didn’t spend and money which meant that I could get ice cream, wasn’t a bad compromise either.
