Day 198 – July 17, 2018
Play – TPC / Potential – WODC / Present – FOWC / Clouds – RDP
This post will not be the typical levity producing “Proscenium Post”. But this was a bit too metaphysical to not share. If I need some time to get away and to just let things go, this has to be one of my favorite places. A short 15 minute drive takes me to Raven Rock, a clearing on the top of a mountain, where the Appalachian Trail cuts through the PA and MD state lines. In fact, this view, that faces west, includes MD on the left and PA on the right. As it was sunset when I took this photo after a pop up thunderstorm passed, the photo isn’t as clean as I would have liked it tote, but the colors at play are simply mesmerizing. The view help to put life back in perspective. We are present only for a split second, and the potential for happiness in each split second is not worth the time wasted on looking back on what was. It is something I came up with, just now as I finish this post, facing that gorgeous view, that lasted in just a few split seconds. To think on how I could have easily missed it, but it seems too coincidental that I just happened to be in this spot, by myself, at this time, to be treated to this view, that I happen to be able to share with you. Makes you wonder.
