Day 163 – June 12, 2018

Columns and Vertical Lines – Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge / Student – Scott’s Daily Prompt / Roof,Rooves – June Month of Squares / Synchronicity – V.J.’s Weekly Challenge

Well this is/was an exciting day on WordPress.  If you haven’t noticed, I took the leap of faith and changed the theme of my site.  Please let me know if you like it.  I am still a bit nervous that everything transferred, and I still am adding content and widgets, but so far pretty easy.  I also, finally, have combined my 365 from 2011 to this site. So now all my archives are in one place. Go Me 🎉! I have now added another challenge to my “combination challenge”. Thank you Cee for posting your challenge finder and leading me to V.J.’s site! Today I think I found a shot that works all of the above.  This is Carroll Creek.  I did a post on this a couple of weeks ago. The shot was taken on the south side of the walkway. The performance space we are in is right along the park.  As I crossed over the bridge on the way to my car, I glanced over and the first thing I noticed were the lampposts, standing vertically erect.  The one side with lights shining, the other side, unlit. The thing is that as I crossed the bridge, the one side lit up.  I stopped in the middle to take the photo, and struggled.  I really thought I was not going to get the feel I wanted, but I did.  There is no denying that I am still a student of photography. After all, I wanted to make sure I caught all aspects of the challenges.  Even the squares and the roof. Well not really a roof, but there is definitely a place where folks can seek shelter from the rain and sun.  The crazy thing is, the second I put the camera away and stepped down, the other side lamps snapped to life.  The timing was just too coincidental.

  1. Coincidentally, I just updated my blog’s look! It must be in the air. Lovely photo, and glad to have you aboard. I love when things like the lights going on and off happen. Keeps life’s mystery alive.

    1. Thank you! Every time I go on, I find little things I need to fix, so it is in a constant state of editing. Thanks for hosting, I am looking forward to your challenges! Hopefully we can keep catching some of these mystery’s, instead of just missing them! 😁

  2. Hi, I too need to change the theme on my site but I am hesitating. This looks real good but on my phone the black text is really hard to read against the background.
