Day 145 – May 25, 2018

Archaic – DWP

I recently wrote about the “vinyl comeback” here.  The mere mention of the words lp, vinyl, album, record, 45, 33 ⅓, B-Side,  seems very archaic when it comes to how music is played today.  But as I said in the post before, nothing beats the sound that beautiful black disc does when a needle drops onto it’s surface and translates those grooves into music.  Even this used record store is pretty archaic.  There are actually 2 other ones in the area.  Which reminds me of a job I had while I was in high school.  I worked in one of the last record stores, in the city I lived in at the time, that sold new albums before CD’s pretty much swallowed them all up.  In any case, walking into this shop is a literal blast from the past.  It is very easy to peruse the seemingly countless number of albums and lose complete track of time.  Every time I pulled up another cover I recognized, a new smile grew across my face as I reminisced.  With the ever growing number of buying and selling of albums, I have a feeling I will be frequenting the shop regularly.
