Day 137 – May 17, 2018

Liquid – WPC  Infect – DWP

What a great set of words for this weeks challenge and prompt.  And while cleaning the turtle tank today, I realized I was cleaning out some pretty infectious liquids.  This is Ariel, I got him and two others on one of my New York City trips something like 15 years ago.  The three of them were all no larger than a quarter. I lost one of them a day or two after coming home.  The other two thrived.  4 years ago I decided to build “turtle beach”, this little oasis the sat in and around my back deck.  It was my hope that the two of them would have little baby turtles.  Unfortunately Sebastian, the female (don’t ask), escaped.  I looked everywhere she could have went.  It was pretty secure and safe from predators.  She was almost double Ariel’s size, so escaping would have been much easier for her. The time between when I last saw her and discovered her missing, was hardly long enough for her to get very far.  Yet, she was gone, without a trace. Every now and then I check around just to see if she happened to come back. So far no dice, but I am hoping that wherever she is she is enjoying her freedom. One can hope right?

  1. Awww…. so sorry she is missing. My sisters and I all had red-eared slider turtles during our childhoods. One of my sister’s turtles lived to be 36 year old!
