Day 134 – May 14, 2018
Slight – DWP
There is a slight chance of thunderstorms today. Looking out the window now, based on the trees being bent over, and the rumble of thunder, I would say the storm is inevitable. Last week, during the hottest week we have had so far, we noticed that the house was only slightly cooler than it was outside. There is so much work we have to do inside the house in order to be prepared to host family for Little Princesses HS graduation. A sizable repair is surely not in the budget. Besides, this system has been completely replaced only 5 years ago, so it really stinks that we are having to pay for repairs. After a diagnostic check, filling the refrigerant, and detecting, then fixing, a small leak within the maze of copper pipes. Needless to say my hopes for an affordable repair were slightly optimistic. After three hours, a refill of refrigerant, a copper oil pipe leak soldered shut, and a couple of hundred, the air is back on and working at its optimal energy efficiency. There is now only a slight risk of a miserable summer inside the house.
