Finding Neverland

Day 129 – May 9, 2018

This is my first attempt to combine three challenges in one with my photo of the day.  I think I can cover them with this one.  I mentioned my plan to cover both of yesterday’s prompt/challenge.  But I got distracted.  So here we go.  The photo was  taken with my Go Pro while I was out on a walk with Anastasia.  The park was filled with kids crayfish hunting in the stream, soaring on the swings, laughing and having the best time.  This photo is shot at the local park, where I have taken a few photos, including this one, that is accompanied by a response that covers this weeks PC.  And that feeling hasn’t changed.  While I absolutely love the area I live, with the views, the streams, nature, isolation, mountains, lakes and world class golf resorts, it is a bit off from my “place.”  I love the city.  Spending weekends in NYC, day trips to Baltimore or Philadelphia, really excite me.  I enjoy the many different aesthetics of the city, especially the lights, the sound and mostly the energy.  And as much as I love it, I couldn’t see myself there for any extended length of time.  It is a more a dream than it is a reality, and I like it that way.  No, my Neverland is tucked away in the mountain/ hills overlooking any large body of water, but not too isolated.  The ability to entertain myself, or those I am with, through a number of recreational activities, is an absolute must.  This is the Neverland I belong. A place where I will never grow up, because, quite frankly, I have no intentions of doing so.  This young soul in an aging body, has no desire whatsoever of being a grown up.  Perhaps this is why I work where I do, and why performing is my calling.  I really don’t know.  All I know is where I belong, where I will laugh, play, live and never grow up.
