Day 119 – April 29, 2018
Tantrum – DWP 2 Things or 2 – CB&W
Two for one today! At first glance the photos probably look the same. While they are not the same, they are taken at the same place, on the same road but from the opposite ends. This is the entrance to Hood College. The black and white photo is outside looking into the campus. The color photo is looking back from the building you see in the first picture to the end house across the street from the school. I found myself on campus today as this is where the last show I performed in this weekend, took place. So how do these relate to the challenges? Looking at the black and white photo, I just love how the contrast of all the different features just seem to pop. It doesn’t hurt that there are so many instances of “two’s” all over the place. In fact, almost everything you see has a “twin” and they are all different. The columns at the entrance, sidewalks, lampposts, the trees along the lane, the columns on the building, and look carefully at the windows on the building. Each window is paired, but the spacing in between the pairs are different on each level. As far as “tantrum” is portrayed, I took the opposite approach. Looking at and walking along this lane, on this bright, blue and warmish day, the aesthetic was incredibly peaceful. Looking back in time, I had to deal with my share of tantrums with my three kids. If you haven’t had the pleasure of dealing with a child who was having one, especially in public, you are missing out. It is every bit as fun and embarrassing as you see in Wal-mart or a toy store. Following any of the kids tantrums, it was vital for myself, and/or Miss Red, to have some time to relax and chill out after dealing with said fit. What I would give to have lived close to the college, because a walk down this lane, on a day like today, would have been just what the psychiatrist ordered. Have a great week!
