Day 100 – April 10, 2018

Day 100?  How in the world did that happen?  Crazy, anyway day 2 of tech week was an all day adventure.  Today was a teacher workday, so the students did not have classes.  This gave us the opportunity to spend an insane amount of time on working out some problems, details and timing issues.  And in addition a full run this evening.  So yes, I am writing this half asleep.  But that is off topic (we open in 2 days and then I will be able to get out and find new subjects!) So the photo is not a prime example of today’s prompt word Luminescent, especially when you consider the light source is definitely generating heat.  But the really interesting thing is that when you look at the patterns on the back wall, or the color of the stage floor, well that is not their actual color.  The walls in the back are white, while the stage deck is black.  Yet the effect the light source reflects off these surfaces, changes color right before your eyes.  That light which is reflecting off those surfaces is not a heat emission light.  The walls and floors are not emitting the light, they are simply glowing as an effect of the combination of the physical and visual attributes.  That last sentence, though may not be stated correctly, sounds awfully good, like I know what I am talking about.  Regardless it is pretty cool what we can do with lights and colors. And especially how it will really enhance our production. Hope there is a smile in your heart!
