Exit…Stage Left – DWP (Rush)

Day 99 – April 9, 2018

I am really hoping someone gets the title and it’s association to the prompt word. But the title has an association to the photo, and its relation to the prompt. Today is the first day of tech week. Or, as stage folk like to call, hell week. Probably because it’s usually when all hell breaks loose. It also mean late nights for the cast and crew, and especially those who are able to stay late. The funny thing is the older I get, the earlier I finish. Things that couldn’t wait, now has to. It would not be uncommon to find me in here until the early hours of the morning working. Now, it is pretty rare if I even get to 10pm. I’m not even sure what has changed except that I have surrounded myself with a larger team who are very good and truly dedicated. However, that doesn’t stop us from having to rush to get things done. The sprint to the finish line is so much faster, even if we are a tad bit slower. I still have yet to put together a show where everything went according to plan. How fun would that be? In any case, the photo displays the stage after we completed our first dress rehearsal for the show. With only 2 rehearsals remaining, the lighting designer is rushing to get his cues written, costumer is altering last minute , we are still trying to finish set and painting, sound cues need written and set changes organized. A lot to do in two days so that the show looks effortless and runs like it’s been playing for a month. I Have to get some rest! Let your heart smile.  Rush
