Day 69 – March 10, 2018

Another one of the bonuses of living where I do, is that you never know what wildlife you are going to encounter. In fact, it is not uncommon to have a clear yard and suddenly see half to a full dozen deer grazing on my lawn, or plants.  It does kinda upset me though, that with the amount of deer I have roaming my yard, I should not have to mow as much as I do.  In any case, I was letting the dog out and, as typical just scan the area to double-check that the area is clear.  After Attaching her to her aerial all of a sudden I wasn’t alone. I am not sure why I am not used to it by now, it’s not the first time, but  I looked up and had two sets of eyes on me.   But then as I looked around the wooded area, there weren’t the only 2 sets of eyes, there were actually 12 sets just there, when a moment ago they weren’t. I had to grab my camera and get catch them.  On my way to grab them he camera, I looked out my side window, and 4 more were no further than 10 feet away from the house.  After they were spooked, the area suddenly emptied..  Reviewing the photos, I counted so many more in the area.  I will post one of those shots below.  The thing is, it is really hard to convey, how close these were to the house, but they were a mere 20 feet away from the back door.  And the ones on the side, were no more than 5 yards from the house.  See pictures below.  At least it makes living in my treehouse that much more exciting.  Enjoy the last day of the weekend!
