Day 52 – February 21, 2018

How convenient that this weeks photo challenge was “A Face in the Crowd.”  After reading the challenge requirements it just so happened to coincide with a day that I was shooting some publicity photos for our upcoming show.  I wanted to take advantage of today’s bright sun and the 80 degree weather we were treated to.  I took a number of photos on my way out to take the pics hoping to catch the sun at the right angle along with my subjects unaware that I was clicking away.  I really wanted to capture them in a genuine moment that had them focused away from the camera and wanting to catch the suntan the right angle to produce the highlights and shadows needed to create my “faceless” faces.  I believe this photo captured all of the elements I was looking for.  And while some of my other shots did a better job of blacking out the faces, this one tells a better story.  It draws the eye exactly where it should and fills in the blanks.  It was a really cool challenge and I enjoyed the perspective it asked me to look for.  In the home stretch now, weekend is just around the corner!
