When something unexpected happens that maybe I should have known about but really wasn’t paying attention, it is a surprise. And when the surprise happens on a day you actually sing about happening, it is even more special. It is snowing and has been for most of the day. There are a few things about this event that make it special. One, I was not expecting it. Maybe the forecasters were calling for it, but I hadn’t seen or heard any reports mentioning snow until today. Second, our local ski resort has been desperately wanting to open its slopes but has been thwarted by the warm weather. And probably the most exciting thing about the snow and what really enhances the surprise is that we will have a white christmas tomorrow. And that is the best surprise of them all! December 24, 2012
