Spent nine hours in the car today to visit family in Ohio. It’s typically a 6 and a half hour drive, but between construction, accidents, and thunderstorms, the trip was longer than desirable. However, because of the later arrival, this amazing sky was seen over Columbus. The colors were magnificent and the suns rays were so majestic. While I would rather not have had the extra time in the car, this was a nice consolation prize. June 22, 2012

This picture is beautiful. The color of the sky was incredible last night. I was traveling back from NYC on a train and arrived two hours late – 2:30am – so I shared your travel troubles. : ) I tried to get a pic of this from the train but it wasn’t working for me. Good to see someone else captured it.

Thanks so much for the comment. I think sometimes I get lucky being able to capture sights like this, even if I was traveling at 65mph on the highway! 🙂 Thankfully, the trip home was less eventful, but then again, so was the sky! So jealous you were in NYC! Wish I was!
