Weekly Photo Challenge: Summer

Summerita

My entry into this weeks photo challenge is an icon, mostly on the east coast, although I think it is starting to make it’s move across the country.  Starting as an ice shop on a front porch in Philadelphia in 1984, Rita’s has to over 100 stores.  Although I didn’t pick Rita’s, I did it for the theme. See when I think of summer, I think of ice-cream (or any other form of frozen treat) stands, and of course, happiness.  As the summer typically means I don’t have to work, I am pretty happy.  Rita’s opens late March and closes sometime in September I believe, just long enough for the summer.  It’s color scheme is so 50’s ice cream soda shop it just screams (pun) summer lovin!
