No Strings Attached

The Pits

I love musical theater, especially when accompanied by a live pit orchestra.  There is nothing that can add to the energy and the feel of a show quote like a live orchestra can (it can also ruin it, but we won’t go there.)  I find myself in a very fortunate situation in that 90 percent of my musicals are accompanied by a live orchestra comprised of some very talented students.  In fact, many of our shows have had comments that include “I wonder how much they paid to hire that orchestra” or “really though, how many are adults?” When in fact it is a very rare event that we have adults in our pit.  But I digress.  This shot is of course, a look at one of our pit members.  I took a few so that I could catch the bow at the right angle and to snag a look at the title on the sheet music.  I also like how the shadows of the cello play off of her arm.  Opening night is tomorrow and things are really starting to fa;l into place.  A few finishing touches and we may actually have a show.  Back to work.  February 29, 2012
