Woodn’t You Know

Peckin through

I saw this carving about a month ago and I knew at some point I would get back to it and take some shots.  It is a stunning carving with vivid colors and I wanted the sun to be just right.  Well, thank goodness for a Saturday afternoon where I am actually home early, because I got the sun today.  It’s a glorious day and even though we are in the middle of winter, there is a sense of spring in the air.  I took a few shots, but this one I really had fun with.  There is a large pine tree at the end of the driveway and I was worried I wasn’t going to make this the same way I saw it in my head, but I did and I am pleased.  Almost looks too real.  January 7, 2012
