CV Day 108

Gate Check

Fort Ritchie use to be an active military base not too long ago, but was one of those that was hit by all those base closures not so long ago.  Its closure really did decimate the area, and several attempts to commercialize it have really failed to take hold.  As a military brat growing up, sites like this were daily occurrences in my life and every now and then when I pass Fort Ritchie I can recall several memories from my childhood growing up on bases similar to Fort Ritchie.

Theres a lot I like about this composition, mainly how the sky really reflects the stone structure of the gates. Noe the scooter that is approaching the gates provides another subject to draw the attention and finally how the road appears to be siphoning in to the gate. April 18, 2011
